What we offer

Find the right group

Four kinds of classes and three levels. Every description answers the same questions, so you can compare them.

Levels

How the path works

The same rule applies whichever discipline you pick. The level rises gradually, and every step further is a decision made by the coach and by you.
  1. 01

    Beginner group

For people who have had no previous contact with combat sports. The whole group learns the same material at the same pace.

    Who it is for

    • People aged 15 and over
    • People with no experience at all in combat sports
    • People coming back after a longer break from sport
    • People who want to try the discipline before deciding whether to stay longer
  2. 02

    Intermediate group

A higher pace, a fuller range of technique and preparation for amateur competition. This is the stage where competing stops being an abstraction.

    Who it is for

    • People aged 15 and over
    • People who have the basics down and want to work harder
    • Amateurs who compete, without a professional career
    • People training recreationally who want a fuller technical range
  3. 03

    Competitive group

Training aimed at competition and organised around the fight calendar. Joining requires a conversation with the coach and his agreement.

    Who it is for

    • Fighters preparing for specific bouts
    • People who want to represent Akademia Sportów Walki Wilanów in competition

    Requires the coach's agreement

Your first session

Your first time in the gym, step by step

For an adult who wants to start on their own. Below is what happens, in order, from the phone call to the end of that first class.

Your first session is free.

Discount for uniformed services

Police officers, firefighters, soldiers and special services officers get 25% off monthly passes.

  1. 01

    Call before your first visit

The best way is to arrange it by phone. We will confirm the time and suggest which group to come to. You do not need to know anything about combat sports to ask.

For Brazilian jiu-jitsu, ask straight away whether the class at that time runs in the gi or without it. What you need to bring depends on that.

  2. 02

    Pack your bag

Sports clothing, a water bottle and flip flops for moving around off the mat. The full lists are in the MMA and BJJ class descriptions, higher up this page.

For your first MMA sessions the Academy can lend you basic gloves. A gi, the uniform for Brazilian jiu-jitsu, you need to have your own, that we do not lend.

  3. 03

Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early

That is enough time to get changed without rushing and have a few words with the coach before the class starts.

There are changing rooms and showers on site.

  4. 04

Report to one of the coaches

When you come in, go up to a coach and say it is your first time. We start with a conversation, and only then do you step onto the mat.

An adult does not need to bring a medical certificate or insurance. Anyone under eighteen needs a parent's consent.

  5. 05

    Warm up, then training

The class opens with a general conditioning warm up, done by the whole group together. Then comes the training itself. One training unit lasts 60 minutes.

There is no sparring on your first session. The coach decides when a given person starts coming to sparring.

What nobody will expect from you

  • Being fit beforehand. Condition is a result of training, not a condition for coming to the gym
  • Experience in combat sports. The beginner group is for people who have had no previous contact with them
  • Taking part in sparring. There is none on your first session, and the coach decides about later ones
  • Your own gloves for your first MMA sessions. The Academy can lend them

What applies on the mat

  • We step onto the mat barefoot
  • No jewellery
  • Nails cut short
  • Sports clothing

Not sure what to choose?

Call and tell us how old you are, whether you have trained before and when you can come. We will suggest the group that makes the most sense and confirm the time.
