Family combat sports session

Father and son

A session where father and son train together, in the same pair. One hour a week, on Friday evening.

An hour without a phone. On the mat there is the exercise and the person you do it with.

“Father and son” is a session where father and son train together, in the same pair. They learn the basics of technique and work through movement tasks. It lasts an hour, once a week.

The session opens with movement preparation. Then we work on coordination, balance, reflexes and control of your own body. We introduce combat sports techniques gradually.

What counts is doing it precisely, and being responsible for your partner. It is not about showing strength, it is about controlling it.

For the son

The son gets to know combat sports beside the person he trusts most. He learns new movements and the rules that apply on the mat.

We break harder exercises into parts. The child works through them step by step and sees for himself when they start to come off. Progress comes from repetition, not from one good session.

For the father

The father does not wait outside the room. He trains with his son, in the same pair.

He sets an example through what he does. He shows how to take a coach's correction and fix a mistake. He gets a session out of it himself.

What the hour looks like

  • An hour without a phone, once a week
  • You train in one pair, father and son
  • A warm up to start, then the technical part
  • You are responsible for each other as partners
  • We match the level to the group, and intensity rises gradually

Who it is for

  • Fathers and sons who want to train together
  • People with no previous contact with combat sports
  • People with no conditioning background. Condition is a result of training, not a condition for coming to the gym

What we work on

  • Movement preparation at the start of the session
  • Coordination and balance
  • Reflexes and control of your own body
  • The basics of combat sports technique, introduced gradually
  • Precision in execution and responsibility for your partner

What you can learn

  • The basics of combat sports technique
  • Working safely with a partner on the mat
  • Controlling strength instead of showing it off

Call before your first session and confirm you are coming. You do not need experience in combat sports or any conditioning background.
